Hi.

Bought me a 2006 K-9 in Oct. I just wonder, when you have to switch to reserve tank how fare can U drive normal?

Have no service or owners manual.

To find out how much gas your reserve has, pull the fuel line off the petcock, add a length of hose that is long enough to reach a container. Open the petcock to ON and drain the main tank with the bike level. Now get a fresh container and switch to RESERVE with the bike level, now you will find out how much you have on RESERVE.

I did that to mine last Thursday. Drained the tank with it full on, when it stopped I flipped it to reserve and just got a drizzle out. I then pulled the petcock, and ended up with about two qts. in my lap. I couldn't get the screen off, and didn't want to break it, so I blew air thru it backwards. It sounded like the air was coming thru the lower part of the valve when I put my thumb over the end. So hopfully I got what ever was stuck in there out.

Good deal Shannon, I have drained mine several times while pulling the tank, and I always test the RESERVE to see if it is working. I figure on a little over a quart on my RESERVE, about 10 miles or so.
