When I first got my Bulldog I noticed that there was a short tube coming from underneath the gas tank. Obviously it is the overflow tube. What didn't make sense was that it was only a couple inches long and basically would overflow onto the engine. Not good for obvious reasons. There was not any other tubes for it to connect to that I could see. The other day when I took the take tank off I noticed a smaller diameter tube that was tucked up under the tank which lead to the front of the frame and down to another set of components. This tube fits perfectly into the overflow tube. It seems to make sense that these two tubes should be connected, but since it runs into other components I didn't want to assume incorrectly. So....
#1 - Am I right that these tubes should be connected? Even though it fits, not sure if it's a breather tube or an overflow tube.
#2 - Where does that smaller tube lead? In other words, what are those components at the bottom front of the frame?
Here are some pics.
