Gas Spot Under Bike

Energy One
After having my 2002 Bulldog out for a ride, sometimes I see a spot under it after parking....Its gas, coming from the bowl vent tube..Spot is about size of a silver dollar.....Float shot? Needle and seat? Will this make gas flow out as Im riding also?

I put up with this for about 8 months....
Do you turn the tap off when you park? If you do and this is happening (like it was with my 02 Mastiff) then it will be your fuel tap leaking.
Nice easy fix :) I just fucked around fixing it because I couldn't find anyone in NZ that had one.

Could be the carb needle/seat beginning to leak or debris in the seat face causing the problem. The carb needle should stop the gas even if the petcock is turned ON. Sounds like a carb repair is the likely remedy.

Gas could leak while riding if the needle seat gets leaky enough to overflow the carb bowl.

The bike is old enough to start having these type problems from wear and/or debris.

Thankx guys.. I do turn the petcock off everytime I shut bike off...Im thinking it more the carb, needle, seat combo.....Will have it checked out....Is that something that can be done with the carb still mounted? Or does it have to be removed from the manifold???

You could try and run some fuel/carb cleaner thru a tank of fuel to see if it would help.

Not sure on the bowl access.

Try some Seafoam if it's available in your area.

I have been shutting gas petcock off and running motor for about 20 sec before shutting off...Thus draining the bowl a bit, and is working...Bike runs great, so just gonna keep doing that till riding season is over, then rebuild carb.... Thankx for the advice guys...
