gas milage

milage

I was worried at first filling up around 100 miles. Problem ; bike was only taking 2 1/4 gallons. Alright now i'm filling up 140 to 150 miles. It's taking 3 gallons.

I'm always under 3000 rpm. If I was any higher in rpm's, i'd be traveling like a rocket. the bike is too fast in town for high rpm's. I can barely keep it at the speed limit now.

oh , by the way this is all in town miles.

Just got a 2004 big dog chopper for my first bike ever. I'm only getting like 8mpg. Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what the problem could be so I can get it fixed and actually enjoy a ride without having to stop and fill up every 30 miles.

Sounds like a fuel leak but you would smell something that big. Plugs fouling at all? 8 mpg is a major burn of fuel. Most dogs are getting 35-40.

No fuel leak have checked everywhere I could for that. As far as I can tell the plugs are good to. I've tried just about everything that I know but like I said it's my very first bike ever so I'm a little in the dark on this one.

Never checked but will now. On a side note if she ever starts to cough. Stop and lean the bike to the side the petcock is on. It got me to the gas station.

Had a nice ride today on my 07 K9, mixed interstate, back roads and in town. 43.6 mpg for the day, not bad.

On my 2500 miles trip to Europe my average consumption was touch over 44 mpg. On -03 Choppa interesting to see how much new pipes and bigger jets effect
