Hope this is the right place for this question....took my k9 out riding today and when I parked it left pet cock on....couple of hours and gas puddle on floor...not coming from pet cock and carb looks dry..I dont have a lift wondering any ideas. I almost always shut fuel valve when parked and it was about 3 hours?

was tank full to the top? (bad idea) was it parked outside in the sun? (gas expands in the hot sun, see previous "bad idea")

Or your floats are stuck and not shutting off the fuel flow. If that's the case gas will spew from the overflow line
Amen to that question, same thing happened to me. Take the bowl off and check for dirt or dirty gas and also the shut off valve on the float should be clean. If the rubber part is damaged replace it. I have a spare one if you need one.

One of the old ones.
The carb has a float with a little needle valve (127) to control how much fuel goes into the bowl. When that kind of leak happens, it is usually because there was a speck of dirt that kept the valve from closing all the way. Your carb was dry because the overflow goes down a tube (135) to the ground. Keeps it from landing on a hot engine. Good idea, huh?
You can gently tap the carb, or remove the sediment bowl and clean the needle valve seatif it persists. Typically it quits all by itself.
