Gas Gauge

I have a question for the forum. I am curious if there is a way to put a gas level gauge on my bulldog. Like a fuel cap with a gauge in it or something.

I bought one of these 4” long, but haven’t got around to installing it yet. Would require drilling a hole in bottom of the tank.

Like Harry said. Remember to reset your trip meter. Wait. How big is that float assy. How big a hole are we talking about. That doesn’t seem like a good idea. Then where will you put the gage ? The carb bikes have a reserve and efi has a light. Neither are great but you always reset the speedo and know the range of your bike. No problem

Yes always reset odometer. I know the reserve is only like 6-10 miles.

I have no idea how to reset odometer and my rpm lights do not work. So I will have to find my way to put a fuel gauge on it. Thanks but I'll do it my way

start trip always with a full gas tank and reset the odometer.
got stranded with no gas on a highway here.
Had some miles to bring my bike to the next gas station because the only guy stopped to help out was a
diesel driver from Holland.
It was a very warm Thursday......
Never thaught how heavy a bike feels powered by man.
Never more I will get stranded in case of empty gas tank.

Not sure what year your bike is? Does your speedometer and odometer work?
On my bike after you fuel up. Start the bike and in the middle of the speedometer is a black button hold it in until the milage reads zero.

Doesn’t hurt to carry one of these with you. At least you know you can get to a gas station if you ever do push the limit….

I know some models of HD had a gauge in the cap. Talk to them to start your endeavor. May have to modify your tank to fit the HD cap onto it. That will be an expensive process.
Consider getting a new idiot light ring for your OEM speedo assembly and reset your Odometer.

Here is some Info.
Should you find a Harley cap with fuel gauge. You can remove the Bigdog fuel cap bezel and a Harley cap will thread right into your tank. It's the Harley thread, ive had a Harley cap in mine before. Other will confirm this .

I just do the 100 mile refill/reset trip method myself .
