I agree that aluminum threads are the only way to go. Whether it's a new cap to fit the paint-saver or a harley style cap, aluminum will be less of a headache. The ethanol in modern gas swells plastic. They become a tight sumbitch and will produce a lot of profanity.

If you are talking about my response to your post, contact the seller and ask. I don't see why Sheldon Coleman would invest money to alter the size of the gas cap.
I've had my decorative cover for over a decade and haven't even had to retighten the set screws. The only mod I made was to drill a slight indentation into my oem gas cap to better countersink the tip of the set screws.

I'd buy an aluminum threaded one right now if someone had it
If Im not mistaken, @BBChopper made my aluminum threaded piece. Not sure if he still messing with them or not??
