I saw where the dealer sawed a line on top of the cap. Then placed a wide blade gasket scraper to remove gas cap.

I've had mine tighten up Rottie -- a little lube (vasoline or WD) seems to keep it fine for several months.

I am so glad I read this! I went to the gas station today and couldn't get my cap off, after a night with my buddies biking. I was cursing them out thinking they did this shit as a gag! Some GAG. I cruised in the station on reserve. Ask me if I was pissed!!! Next time I saw one of them I was going to hide thier bike around the corner from where ever they were at. You guys just saved me a lot of SHIT!!! It must be the vibration doing this.

onaprwl, this one had separated the two pieces, the plastic and the metal top.. We talked to Scott at Full House and he told us, he had only heard of this three times. He said the best way is to drill down through it with a small bit and then use a self tapping screw.. Well that worked out perfect! I took
the cap down to FH today and they submitted it as warranty, gave us a new cap!!

Thanks Rottie, After plenty muscle strenth and cursing I was able to get it off and get my gas. I put it back on just slightly tight wondering if maybe it was the vibration. Checked it just now and it is OK. They don't give you very much on the stock caps to grab on to!!!!

I've thought about getting one of the covers, something to grab onto and not scratch my paint.. Suck when your hands are cold!!

Gotta love the forums sometimes! I thought I had the left cap stuck then tried to turn it clockwise to remove and it came off with a couple of grunts!!
