Gas cap crisis

Does anyone know how to get around the incredibly hard to turn gas cap on a big dog. It seems to be glued on every time. I've tried a little silicone as well as standing down threads a little all to no avail. You almost need pliars to get it off... I'm hoping they sell an aftermarket gas cap that is not so difficult but I'll take any solution advice. Thanks guys, Steve

Hi steve. What type of bike we talking? Some use two caps, which the one on the left is left hand thread. Ethanol will swell the plastic on the cap making it hard to turn. I have a spare cap so when this happens I switch it out. There are aftermarket caps. Someone else will have to help you with that. Also try ethanol additive. It's supposed to help with the ethanol blues.

I just use synthetic motor oil (Mobile One), stick my finger the jug and lightly coat the gas cap threads. Lasts a few weeks, then re~coat. Works for me...

I wouldn't be concerned in 2094 about a sticking gas cap with my balls dragging on the floor !!! let's be honest...at 139 yrs of age ...they'd be dragging a couple of feet behind.
