Garage queen to daily driver

I think I found that little bugger. I had no idea the EHC was so small. I also found that the neutral switch wire had been rubbing against the drive belt where it is not double insulated. I should be able to fix that. As far as the headlight goes it looks good through the lens and I decided it was lifetime bulb because I can’t get it out. That was a bad joke. I’ll keep trying. So now I think the picture below is the EHC. The second picture shows all the splices.View attachment 110760View attachment 110762
Thats is a wireplus unit...that in your hand is the switching module...the ehc part of it is the other little black box beside it...new wiring harness and a axels ehc is going to be in the future...you one of the lucky ones that the wire plus is still working

Old T-shirts work almost as good as flannel, the microfiber will fine scratches, as they are made out of plastic.
Yeah the cloth T-shirts work real nice but I ran out fast. Then I used some old flannel shirts. Cutting those up gets old. I took someone on here’s advice and picked up the flannel on sale. 3 yards for seven bucks and it’s got some pretty pictures of fisherman.

Is the low beam good? Did you replace it with an LED or HID light? Some early HID's at least didn't draw enough power so the EHC made the mistake of thinking the bulb was out and switched to hi-beam so you weren't without lights.
Good call Rottweiler and Jersey big Mike. I got the bulb out and the low beam was indeed blown. I think the picture below explains why. B1750DF0-0758-4210-9D05-49DA5BDD9603.jpeg

Good day everyone. Sure was a beautiful day. I was just about to close out this daily driver post. The bike has been great. Today however I was halfway through a 100 mile ride and the bike just quit at a stoplight. Nothing. When the light turned green, I rolled downhill into a Walmart parking lot. The dash lights come on in accessory mode, but not in the start mode. No headlight at all. Checked all the wiring and looks good. The top left red light is on on the switching module. The bottom two lights are on on the EHC (green lights). I have the old wire plus the unit (I know). I’m guessing the printed power switch board is out. It makes a buzz when I hit start in accessory mode. I wish I had gotten those Allen wrenches into my tool bag. Just sitting in the shade waiting for a really good friend to bring a truck. Sure was a nice 50 miles.

OK I’m going to close this thread. After 10 months, I have determined that the big dog was never meant to be a daily driver. It’s a bar hopper or a garage queen. Unless you’re a motorcycle mechanic or an engineer, you will never be able to keep up on what goes wrong with this bike. Unless of course you pay to get the work done. And that is solely dependent on The Mechanic you choose. I’m going to choose the latter and pray for the best. I’d give up if I didn’t love this bike. The fact is I hate electronics and if you do too, don’t buy a big dog. This thing was designed by morons that don’t even know how to properly shield a wire. Let alone how to handle the complicated stuff. I will be spending a lot of time in the technical section on this blog even though it’s hard to find. But hey, that is fitting for the bike. If I cared about all the attention this bike attracts I might feel differently, but I just want to ride and it’s hotter than a dickens out there. I love you guys and appreciate all the help. Bye-bye daily driver.
