G carb/intake

Sittin here with my new XXX g carb and intake manifold. thought about and noticed if you bolt the two together there is a small amount of play/shift between the carb and intake due to bolt and intake hole tolerences. Reaching inside of the intake you can feel a slight edge where the two bolt together has anybody massage the intake opening to prevent having a small damning effect at the joint on the in coming fuel air mixture?

Budweiser speaking for me at this moment:cheers:

actually, seems like you should carry that thought a step farther and port match all the way through the intake to the head. the less restriction the better the flow. maybe you should hang with your "bud" more often.

Agrred: I just haven't figured out a new manifold yet. Maybe a slight bore into the intake passage of the haed and a wider intake that would fit into the bore with a newly designed seaing system. But all I have is a hammer:D

Hammers are good to have around especially the BFH it will make anything fit

Take the time to smooth and match all joints in the intake tract. small steps produce turbulance in the intake which can alter the fuel atomization. The surfaces don't have to be polished since a course finish in the intake tract provides a bit of turbulance along its surface which helps keep the atomized fuel suspended in the airflow. You want the turbulence inside the cylinder/ combustion chamber.

If your Ridgeback is an 05 you will need an intake manifold to match your XXX G carb ... the E carb is a little smaller. Good luck:2thumbs:
