fuel tank problem?

OK to start I actually tried to find this in old post but no luck. My problem is when I filled up Sunday I noticed what looks like a long arched metal shaving at top of fuel and under the gas cap any suggestions? I think I have read this somewhere before Thanks

could be a piece of liner? just guessing

That's just some dried up JB Weld they use when they install the paint saver ring. Just pull it out and pitch it.

any problem if the old JB weld pieces fall into the tank? will it dissolve?

if some drops in you can use mechanic fingers to pull it out
