Fuel out the exhaust

Had a first time for me. Turned the fuel on and gas started running out the carb overflow tube. So I tapped on the float bowl and after a while it stopped. Went to crank the bike and fuel started coming out the exhaust. My question is,, do I need to remove the bottom case plug to drain any fuel in the bottom of the motor ??.

Sounds like the float stuck in the carb. You can remove the bottom bowl of carb without completley removing entire carb. You probably have some crud in there causing the float to stick.

Thanks Shannon , I wasn't sure if the fuel traveled past the pistons an into the case. It was my bad that caused it to happen. I replaced the straight fuel fitting on the carb bowl with a 90° swivel fitting while the bike was on the kick stand. The float needle was sideways and wasn't sitting in its seat.
