Another question for you guys. I re-routed the fuel line so it doesn't run between the jugs and get heated up, which could possibly cause vapor lock and I also installed a fuel filter. When I bought my new steel braided fuel line I bought 3/8 inch :bang: . I thought the fuel line was 3/8 inch, but after looking through the threads I now believe it is 5/16 inch. Is it going to cause any problems running the 3/8 inch or do I need to go and buy 5/16 inch? Thanks

i also ran the same size and found no problemsi did eventually change to the right size only because of a mind over matter thing and the not so tight fit of the hose to the petcock.......

That is correct Jimmi, after I removed my tanks and stuff a few weeks ago, I put 5/16 back on but it was not braided, just plain black.

Not sure about the newer bikes but on the old Mastiffs, it's a tight squeeze for the fuel line so I just went with the plain stuff with chrome fittings.

Cheaper and no rubbing/chaffing issues. :D

Chevy, if your line isn't leaking at the petcock, i'd say you are GTG.

I know about all those, I would have thought that their would be somewhere out of a town the Size of Tulsa that would have it on hand, oh well I'll just order it and get it that way..

I get mine at a performance shop called Lopers Performance. I would try some 4-wheel off-road shops. We have some here in AZ called Desert Rat. It will have to be some type of performance auto store. Checker Auto, Auto Zone, Napa, Pepboys, none of these places carry that kind of stuff :down: .

I'd put the right size hose on it. The interference fit is actually a major part of the seal. If it wasn't a gravity feed application, it would leak for sure.
