Energy One
I know this has been brought up before. and after searching and reading post after post I haven't seen the answer im looking for. obviously pingle is the suggested route, but does anyone know the flow rate required for these dogs. I have several selections in town but I wanna make sure it flows enough. thanks in advance

I think pretty much any automotive filter designed for the stock fuel hose size is going to work ok for you, no fancy high flow requirements are required

I used to have a PINGEL inline fuel filter, but never did not really understand why I would need such a filter on a gravity flow type fuel line, when I have one on the fuel flow Valve (petcock). I kept getting fuel on my left leg and balls from a fuel leak it devleoped at the filter housing (twist off for filter replacement) from the vibrations so I took the dam thing off and sits in my tool box with all sorts of extra filter that I will never use. It didn't matter how tight I got it, it would still leak after a few rides or so. I personally think its a waste of money but to each its own.

Carlos,when I was way younger and gasoline was really gasoline and when you got gas someone put it in your tank for you we used to get splashed with gas while filling cars that had the tank filler behind the hinged license plate mount. I am sure you remember those days. Anyway I remember gas on the balls felt like they were on fire. Without trying it my self and since you have personally experienced the gas bath does it still burn like it used to?

Thanks

:roll::roll::roll: lol....

Carlos.... these filters do have an O-Ring in them... (I am sure you know, but just saying...) I have two of them (wife´s bike) and never had a leak... maybe yours was faulty?

As far as why I´ve got them.... just "peace of mind" so not crap goes into the Carb.... I don´t particularly enjoy dismantling, cleaning and putting together Carbs... and as we all know.... the Gas in now-days its not the cleanest!!! :(

Oh, and I do use, also, 3 oz of Mystery Oil every 4-5 tanks.... it keeps everything clean and lubed.

:cheers:

I remember one time we were out in a boat chasing ducks, and managed to swamp the boat. The closest thing floating next to me was the gas tank, so I grabbed it and floated back to shore. When I got out of the water it didn't take long to realize that was a bad idea.

Pingle is the one I have used for years with no problems. It flows more than the carb will ever need.

I learned a long time ago to take the screen out of the petcock and put in a glass reusable filter. Taking the carb off every 6 months and finding all that junk in it was a pain besides breaking down on some back road because the scoot wasn't getting enough gas... Just my 2 cents...
