Fuel Filter for EFI

Guys....I've searched this forum, EBay, Amazon, JP Cycles etc.... I cannot find a fuel filter that specifically says it is for EFI systems. Prefer Pingel but any high quality, high pressure inline filter will work, need 5/16...any help with the part number, store, etc is appreciated.

The guy at JP says the standard pingel will work but I've heard otherwise.....thanks in advance.

Filter is the sock before the pump in the tank.....at least in the HD world. I am assuming it is the same for BDM. The pump will jam before the injectors. And if the pump lets go you are in deep doodoo anyway.

Thanks...I'm aware of the filter in the tank that's part of the pump but many-many BD owners on this site have highly suggested another inline filter that's "inadditon" to the tank filter. Is this additional in-line filter required or not? Does the filter in the tank filter enough to prevent contaminates from getting into the injectors? If so, I would think the tank filter is good enough and the inline filter is not required.

Inline filter is for Carb only. EFI filter is in fuel tank just as stated above. You can take it out of tank via access panel on bottom of tank. But tank has to be empty of fuel to do so. Filters are hooked to pump assembly and they all come out as one. It can be cleaned and replaced if needed, but I would not do anything with it unless your having problems. If tank liner starts to fail then you will probably have to reline it and clean filter. Otherwise, just make sure your filling with a contaminate free nozzle, and you shouldn't have any worries.

Recently pulled my tank on my 09 Wolf to replace the fuel pump, regulator and filter... since there is a lot of speculation and misinformation regarding what parts Big Dog used on the Wolf (especially the sock filter part#), I thought I would post the verified part numbers:
Fuel Pump: WALBRO #F20000107
Regulator: WALBRO #135-22
In-tank Sock Filter: S&S #19-0458
S&S, as well as Victory, sells the complete kit for close to $700.00... but that includes the metal casing that bolts onto the tank plate... you don't need that... individually, I purchased all of them for a little over $125.00.
Also, when you pull the tank, make sure that you remove the brass gas line nipples that are threaded into the tank... the manual doesn't tell you to do that, but if you don't, the tank won't come off... I found that out the hard way; handle bars loose, tank in my hands...

if you insist on adding an external fuel filter I would suggest something along the lines of

It's meant for a EFI system at 60PSI and is a resaonable cost.

Ok not sure why you want two filters.

But if you insist any 30 micron will do.

IMHO, you only need one and it should be in the tank before the fuel pump and regulator. If you filter after, those items can get clogged.
