fuel draining from float bowl overflow tube

has anyone ever had this happen? it's only happened once and only after the bike was sitting for a while after riding it. It didn't start pouring gas from this line till I stood the bike up straight from the leaning side stand postion. Hasn't happened again and it's the first time since I have owned the bike for 2 years now. As soon as I loosened the gas cap it stopped running out instantly.

Probably time to clean your float bowl. Some contamination is probably int here and preventing the float bowl shut off from seating properly.

Take some carb cleaner and 100 lb air to it and check your intermediate jet while you are at it. Those little holes in it get clogged also. Use a feeler gauge in the slit of the brass tube with the "blue" o-ting on it. You can bearly tell there is an opening in it cause it's so small but clean it out.

May find out your bike will run lots better after this!

yep clean up the bowl, and the float vlv. Also look into installing a pingle fuel filter to avoid future problems.

I HAVE 18,000 = MILES ON IT SO I GUESS YOU GUYS ARE RIGHT ON ON THIS ONE. WOULD THIS AFFECT MY FUEL MILEAGE AS WELL?

probably not. It only regulates how much gas stays in the carb. You can test it with the bowl off and the gas line hooked up. Hold it level and turn the petcock on. the float comes up and the gas turns off, much like a toilet tank.
