What year is your pit? If you are not getting any power lights on your thunderheart I bet your 12volt output from the ehc is bad.

It's an 04'.

dogvet - I hope you used RFI suppression plug wires and resistor plugs. Metal core wires will take out an electronic ignition quicker than shit!
I put on exactly what I took off.

I'll keep you posted. I just got home from work and really don't feel like fucking with it right now.

Maybe after a few brews.

That's what I said about starting from the EHC that sends power to the ignition... start with the key on, then the run switch, then the ehc, ignition, sensor, coils. Being that there are no f'ed wires somewhere in hiding.

you can try running a jumper from the positive side of your battery to the 12volt input wire on thunderheart. I will get you the color of wire, and pin location when I get home tonight. This is what I have to do "sometimes" to get me down the road.

O.k. fellas'

This is what I did. I pulled the ignition coil found all to be good. all pretty much checks out to be in order. I took the battery out of the bike and while doing a visual on the EHC I found 1 side of the harness not clipped in (fully seated) .

I hoped that was the problem but looking at it closer i saw what appeared to be some kind of burn marks. It's hard to tell by the pics. The 1st light on the right is pretty much scorched. Not a photographer

Shouldn't the light on this be on to when trying to start the bike? or while the bike is running?

What do you all think it is that I need? Maybe a new one of these?

After I found that the harness was not completely in I did hook it up and try to get the bike started. No Good.

Oscar, looks like that EHC didn't have any die-electric grease in it. It should have. Won't fix your problem but.........

Hope you figure it out soon,
Ray

you have two pigtails coming off of your ignition module. Try running 12 volt to the red wire in the 3wire pig tail. You will also have a green, and black wire in this harness. This is the wire that the ehc sends 12volt to the igntion module. If the ehc's 12v output is bad this will bypass it. Do this and attempt to start as normal...

My 04 issue

Disclaimer: I don't know $hit about electronics, but I can tell you what happened with my 04.

When my EHC was going out, I had no lights on it when I hit run. At random times when it did start, the light on the EHC would come on Red and send power to the Ingnition Mod and that would light up the Red Led.

If you have lights on your EHC, and none on your Ig Mod, it would think Ig Mod. I actually think Shovelhead Cowboy has one for Sale in the swapmeet!

Similar thing happened to my buddies 03 Bulldog where the EHC was good but the Ig Mod was bad. Had enough power coming in from EHC but not enough going out.

Just my inexperienced 2 cents.

Good Luck

Well fellas' I got the bitch up and running. With the help of all of you and especially :2thumbs: DOG VET:2thumbs: he trully is an asset to this site. I thank everyone here for all of the support and ideas in helping me out to try and sort out the problem.

Don't know exactly what it was. I undid every connection on the bike, loaded it all with dyelectric grease and the bitch fired right up. Go figure. I took it for a spin and all I can say is DAMN - I'm glad to be on the road again!
