Riding home today when engine stopped. Unable to restart. Battery and fuel fine. Stater turns over easily. Has spark. Can hear fuel pump turn on but no fuel getting to engine? 09 Wolf with 13,000 miles. Closest dealer 3.5 hours away. Any suggestions? Thanks Scott

Don't know much about this EFI dogs, but is there a fuse for the injectors, I would check that out being that the pump is working and you have spark. It could also be the crank sensor. Also check to see that the TPS is working as well that it didn't come undone. Hope that helps. Do a search maybe someone with EFI had the some issue before and was able to track it down.

Thanks for input guys. Not much in owners manual about fuses. Probably need to purchase service manual.. I'll start with above info and see what I can find. Thanks again Scott

I've just had this happen this week on an EFI bike. Turned out that the throttle position sensor must have taken a bump and was miss-calibrated. Wouldn't start, but a recalibration solved it.

Test to see if the bike will start with a partial (15-25%) throttle opening. If it does, then get it on computer to look for DTC codes or errors in the step position or TPS voltage.

Good luck!

Scott, you say the starter turns the motor over easily? My wolf would hardly turn over before I had compression relief cams. Do a compression check. If ok I would suspect the cam sensor. If it's not good pull the cover off of the cam chest. Mine spit a cam with only 1700 miles. Didn't cause any damage. I know of 2 others that have had the same issue. Denny from Las Placitas had a cam sensor fail.

I would disconnect the fuel line form the tank, push the little pin in and turn the run button and see if I was getting fuel out the tank before going to deep into this. If it's like the older efi bikes, it should have a filter inside the tank.

If you have sparks probably is not the cams sensor. I don't think there is any fuse for the injector or fuel pomp but i could be wrong. It sound, as jsmuth said, your cam belt snapped. It is one of the problem of the ex-wedge motors. I just upgrade my cams and I put the compression relief too (can't believe how easy the engine turn over now, flawless). I was told that the compression relief cams would fix and prevent from having the cams belt snapping.

Thanks for all the help. I've been to S and S a few years ago when they were working on the 132 kit. I've been putting this off but maybe able to deal with the cam belt issue by replacing the cams as well as the compression issues. Thanks again. Scott

Scott the timing belt has snapped on a couple of Wolfs that I know of. I was riding to a rally when my Wolf just died. The X wedge cams have a splined gear that is attached to the cam. I was fortunate that BDM was in business and S&S made the repair (gear). Compression tests are simple. BTW I have the 128 kit on my Wolf (kit will take a 117 wedge to a 132 a 121 to a 128) oh hell yeah.

another member had similar problem, bike was new only about 40 miles on it. we checked fuel pressure and it was 38 pounds. after checking manual should have been 60 pounds. bike was riding before this and he thought ok because that is the way it was from new but would act up sometimes. had local shop fix because he had aftermarket warranty. but S&S ended up paying for everything. also had some tank liner coming apart, just cleaned out at that time.

Disconect the battery and do a reset of all the sensors. their should be a sticker by the battery on how to do it. It will reset the TPS and stepper motor. Might help and its free!!!!!

Tried the disconnect. No luck.. Called S&S yesterday. Trailering up tomorrow to Viola. I only live 45 minutes away. They said bring up and we'll figure it out. Sounds like the cam belt broke. Most likely due to lack of compression releases. All goes well will have an answer by weeks end and back riding next week. Thanks for everyone's input of problem. Will let everyone know when it gets back for S&S. Scott

Just got back from S & S. Pulled cam cover. Belt shredded. S and S going to replace cam belt, cam plate, and update to 569 cams for free. They are one of the most dependable and service friendly companies I have ever dealt with. Should have the Wolf back early next week. Scott

Good you save some $$$ right there and I'm sure they are gonna put the easy start cams too with it.
I did the same upgrade too and it really free the engine, way much smoother and powerful, you gonna gain about 20 hp and as much as torque, but you need to install the programable ECU or it won't make much of a different.
Let's us know how you feel about the upgrade when you get it back.

Nice. :2thumbs:

Like Denny said you're gonna love the new cams. I think they're only making the 569 Wedge cams in the easy-start version.

Made a HUGE difference when I put mine in.

What programable ECU? Who makes it and where do you get one? Thanks Scott
I'm assuming you have EFI. The controller is S&S VFI...Any S&S dealer can get it for ya. Yours may be unlocked. I think someone else had a newer bike and the controller was not locked.
