You could put a bicycle tube in a 300 and it would work. Did ya ever just take a tube and hook the air nozzel to it and see how big they get before they blow? I did this to a wheel barrow tube once and it got as big as a tractor trailer tire before it blew:oldhardlaugh:sounded like a bomb going off, it stretched the rubber that bad that it didn't return to its size after it exploded, funny as hell. I don't recommend doing it indoors:crazybitch::oldhardlaugh:
:oldeek: Was that right after ya said, " hey fellas, watch this!" ? :oldlaugh::oldhardlaugh::oldhardlaugh:

I have tubes in both my Triumphs, since they have spokes, and haven't had any issues. I even reused a tube on my back wheel because I forgot to order a new tube when I installed the tire (I wouldn't use a tube more than twice because of the age of the rubber and corrosion buildup around the valve stem. Both Triumphs have tires that say "Tubeless".

This is my rim that i took to have the tire mounted at the local harley shop. I cant believe someone would mount a tire on a rim looking like that. No wonder the damn thing wouldnt hold air. The whole rim looked like that. Unbelievable 20160322_210722.jpg

I'd hate to see the kind of work they'd do on a complete engine rebuild! :oldwtf: probably wouldn't even clean the parts,:skep: or install new gaskets! :crazybitch:

Had same prob on my front wheel. Re-install with Bead sealer - $5 fix. No problems since. Common on billet car wheels also.

I have about had it with getting my tires mounted and seeing this doesn't help.

Last time I went in and got charged 1/2 an hour of labor ($60) and I was there about 10 min. You know what that's fair I'll pay that. I had no problem with that. What I didn't need was the song and dance about not buying the tire from them. I'm not gonna overpay for a tire that is probably older since let's face it a shop will never do the volume these online guys do and live is higher. I'll pay you for 30 min of labor for 10 min of work but I'm not gonna pay $90+ more for the tire then another $60 to mount come on now.

Anyways, I'll change my own tires from now on. Saves me over an hour driving in the truck and the $60

You know if a shop dosent want to mount a tire that a customer brings in then fine, put a sign on the door if you did not buy it here don't bring it here. It's a simple concept.

Hey k9bdm, let us know what you used and how you cleaned the rim. Also if you post a picture of the result of your work it would be really helpful. Thanks.

I would get a No Mar Tire changer if I were you. You could change tires on both of your Dogs and any Vehicles you have!:)

Thats easier said than done, breaking the bead is a bitch without a tire machine. The back tire because its such a low profile and the back wheel has no dish to it makes getting the tire off very difficult even with a tire machine. You would definitely have to bolt that down to something that doesn't move,

Break the bead with a shop press.

I looked at a NoMar my problem is not in price but footprint, I don't have the room for a machine that I may not even use within a single calender year. Although this year I would have it already paid for. 2 MC tires, and new tires on the Jeep and Truck. Doh but won't need to change Jeep or Truck tires for quite awhile. Actually probably the last set of tires on the truck I think it will fall apart before this tread wears.

I've been thinking of designing a tire changer that doesn't take up as much space and that I can take apart and store. I've got some ideas in my head for one and I might just give it a whirl I have my 250 rear that needs changing soon.

There are a lot of ways to break a bead. For my NoMar, I didn't get a floor mount. I carry it down from my attic and slide it in the receiver on my truck. Then the tire changing begins. Of course, I have a walk in attic which I access to store all these tools

Hey Hew,

Which changer do you have? They have the MC One and the Classic Model. I like the classic one but my only worry is tire cleareance is only 31.5" - Won't work for my Jeep Tires. I wonder if I can remove that arm support on the Classic model. Also the bead breaker clearence is only 10", wont work for the 300. Seems like they are working on hitch mounts and they will ship in Apirl.
