You're talkin about the rear drive belt right? Its right hand threaded. I put a pc of old innner tube in one of the scallops on the cover and then use something like a wooden dowel and tap on it lightly to loosen it up. most of the tension is from a o-ring on the cap/cover
Yeah like he said but I put a rubber mallet on the cover scalloped edge and gently tap it with another hammer. That was after I put screw driver gouges in the bottom edge trying to pry it off........duh I didn't know it was threaded.
twist off the access then remove the clutch rod then remove the 3 bolts holding the cover then youll see the ramp access on the inside edge of cover remove that and then youll see the ball and ramp which the cable hooks to. lots of fun. loosen the cable at the adjuster first.
