Well i have replaced the fork seals twice now and still have leakage. Original seals started leaking so i replaced them including the bushings with a new set i got from Bikers dream and followed Gasman's how-to. My fault on them was i put them in upside down so i bought another set and put them in right side up but still leak as bad as if they were upside down again. Someone mentioned that if your forks get a shinny spot (chrome looking) in that area that the upper tube will have to be replaced due to wear. Is this true and where do i get a set or is there another brand of seal that i heard about in a conversation that says no leak garranteed. please let me know your thoughts. thanks guys.

mine, at about 12.6k have that shiny spot. changed everything out around 8.5k and didn't have a leak before and still don't after. can't see how polishing is going to change the O.D. of the tube enough to make it leak w/ a new seal. something gotta be wrong. MHO

I had the same issue. Then went to Harley dealer and picked up new seals. Installed them from the top or the fork tube-(a little more work) and duck tape over any grooves in fork tubes and spray the tubes up with WD40. Any minor cut in the seals from the grooves in the fork tubes and them babies will leak.
