Front brake leaver problem

Hi Guys

I all of a sudden seem to have about and inch of slack on my front brake leaver on my 04 Ridgeback, as in "slack" i mean it actually rattles backwards and forwards loosely as i am riding. The front brake still works and it doesn't hit the throttle when i pull it in as hard as i can, but is not far away from it.
Was wondering if any of you have any suggestion as to what may be going on here.

Sounds like the inner bushing is gone.
Pull your lever and look for the inner bushing
Part (4) or (18) is what would likely cause that

have you looked at the locking nut on the cable or checked your fluid level?

Its the front brake so no cable
And he states the brake is working so wouldn't be fluid
His issue is sloppy lever

How are the brake pads? Do they need replacing?
