Free-Floating EHC....

Guys,

I was installing a new battery and I just discovered the EHC is free-floating in there… the two bolts are sheared!!!!!

1. Could it be the cause of not charging?

2. Can I keep going like this? (for a few days only... not sure for how long has been this way already)

Franco that used to be a pretty common problem with the bolts shearing off. Most people just zip tide it down. As long as the connections are still tight there will not be a problem

No. Only 3 guys control charging:
a. Rotor/Stator = AC output
b. Volt/Reg = Coverts A to DC
c. Battery = Has to stay charged by these guys, not that dangling box.

Yes and no.
a. The wires going back and forth can go loose, break off.
b. It would nice to shim the box so there is air going past all sides, not zipped up and one side is heating up.
c. Think of the box not needing a ground if it still runs dangling. Whereas this would be a no run condition, if the control box needed to be grounded. So yes, you can keep going but the wires may catch up on you vibrating some.

I don't think that would be good for it,excessive bounce and vibration could lead to something get rattled loose in the EHC,Zip-Tie that sucker down!!!!!!!
