I recently notice that when I jack up my Mastiff and place it on a block to either work on or clean it. It leans to one side. I place the block right in front of the rear tire. I can shim up one side to get it to sit level.
Is this normal?

Both of mine sit level on the rails. You aren't resting it on a lower exhaust pipe are you.

Get under there and look and tell us if it's sitting only on the frame rails!

Sitting on the frame rails. No exhaust brack.
Could be you are resting the bike on the rear frame side rails. The ones that support the swingarm and they may be different on each side as the right side has the exhaust bracket.

If you set it down on the block under the motor and trans it should sit flat.

I think Dave will agree... that I too have noticed that it seems to "appear" to lean when you're jacking it up. I noticed this on mine and a few others.

Interesting for sure, I know on my 05 Mastiff, that if I set it on the frame rails under the motor and tran, that when lifted, it is level as can be. Hell if I was to put a level on it, I am pretty damn sure that the bubble would be dead center, at least side to side.

I did a little research and found that frame straightening shops take measurements from the swingarm bolts. I tried that and found that when the bike looks level it messures 11.5625 on the left, 12.125 on the right.

If I shim one side to get a an equal measurement, the bike looks like it's leaning to the right. (I will ad photos)

yeah...when I first put my bike on the jack.....it appears to lean to the right....but if you eye it up.....its level....being that I was holding the bike up...and what you think is level when your sitting on it....its a little different on the jack.......as long as its sturdy not not tipsy...you should be fine..
