...that black cloud that hoovers over the city.
 You talkin' about ME, Raywood?

"Black Cloud" was my handle back when I was flying in the Navy - and I did spend some time hovering over that part of the country. :D :whoop:

I lived at Discovery Bay in Northern Ca. when there were no more than 50 homes. We left in 99.....it was crazy then......can't imagine what it is now. I'm very, very happy to be far from that rat-race. Granted...good riding weather in-land, and in the mountains....you just have to ride 100 freak'n miles thru traffic to get to it. Take a ride along the ocean, even in the summer, and you'll freeze your ass off.

I do not regret my time in N. California (35yrs....18 at Disco Bay), I'm loving it here in the up-state of South Carolina, 20 miles from the Blue Ridge with a climate not too much different from there. I love the people, the clean air and the fact we get snow 3 days a year. For the most part, we can ride year-round w/o the craziness, high cost of real-estate, taxes, or paying $3.50 for a gallon of gas.:choppersmiley:
I would like to check out s.c. good diving, the cost of living is reasonable and you can buy a house at a fair price. your right about a hours drive but on a bike how bad can it be. ocean, mountains, open country side. deep water leaves with small shoulders. w.t.f it all good. at least it's no so. calif. now that is a rat race. and nobodys moving anywere fast. I now see some people have a bit of cabin feaver or a bad case of the grumpys. ment nothing of it. just thought I would get some interesting weather feed back!! later.....

The good weather is coming. :whoop:

Our local pass 35 miles from here has had 10 feet of snow in 10 days.

Slammer,

We are at 14 degrees  here in Central Ohio, a couple of inches of snow and a good amount of ice as well.

I am ok with some of the shitty weather these parts bring. I have been using the time to do some indoor projects like painting. Will be doing some ceramic tile on the kitchen floor and a couple of weeks as well.

The bad weather allows me to budget my time to get things done so I can justify be care free during the riding months.

It's all good. :2thumbs:

Your 100% correct about home projects and time. Maybe I should move to colder climates so I can finish all the small jobs around my house. I hate the idea of putting my hand into my nail bag and pulling out 14 degree nails. my bones hurt at the thought of cold. I wear shorts and tee shirt on most days even when it gets california cold (40 degrees around here). I hope for an early spring for you all! Later...

groom... you're right... as much as I miss riding... its a good change of pace. It also allows for bike projects. I think sense I have owned the dog I have always had things to do to it during the winter... just not usually as much as I do this winter!! :D

But Slammer...what's the challenge in knowing you can wake up and ride every single day? Let's see, Saturday I rode in about 60 degrees, but by the time the bar stop was complete, it was 26 degrees for the ride home. Sunday it was high of about 50 and stayed there thru the week, but today we had wind gusts up to something like 45 mph and 70 degrees. Tomorrow we expect highs of about 30 degrees, snow, wind, rain, ice....good times! Probably be back on the dawg by Wednesday using tanning lotion to keep from burning. There's the weather report from the middle coast. Thanks for your report from the Left coast.

:2thumbs: Thanks! Love riding the Dawg! She's my baby! You are lucky and I have to admit I'm a bit jealous that you get 24/7 riding. Awesome!

6 days a week and twice on sunday. Between Texas and Louisiana how can you not own a bike. But the flip side is brutal summers. 95% humidity during summer months is not for the faint at heart.
