Wish I would have cut the flutes first before I drill all the holes. They would have looked better between the cylinders too.

now for the polishing. I sanded the tooling marks out of the grooves, then figured I'd use some Q-tip to rub the polish in there. Then I got an idea, and low and behold it works great.

I clipped one in half, and stuck it in the dermal, and ran it on the #1 setting.

Once I get all the grooves done, I'll polish out the rest of it.

Ok, got a little more time on the bike today. Unfortunately, the wife is feeling a little bit neglected, because I've been gone all week, so this is all I got done.
I removed the sissy bar, and because it is an after market, it's mounted to the rear fender, and not the struts. So I remounted the brackets, and made some plugs for them.

Notice, I did get the rear fender buffed out.
Now back to the forward controls. I had to replace the brake line, because it was to short. So I thought I'd run through how to bleed the brakes real quick.
After installing the new line, I left the fitting at the rear caliper just snug. Filled the reservoir with DOT 5. Then lightly pushed the brake peddle several times to get the air out of the plunger.

Then I loosen the fitting at the caliper to get the fluid through the line.
Then I hooked up the brake bleed pump.

Pulled a vacuum, and bled out the air.

It's not rocket science.
Refill with brake fluid, and check the vent on the cap.

I cleaned the carb while I was there, and a couple other things, and finished polishing out the rest of the bike.
