I want to install chrome extended forward controls on my 07 K9. I thought that our frames took the old HD controls but looking at BD accessories on their web site lists different kits for different years and models, why?

Also BD's way I would have to buy the new chrome forward controls and also buy the chrome extended forward control kit to make what I want. Figured I go aftermarket and gain the ability to have any type of footpeg.

Any suggestions?

BD has a kit for moving your controls forward and it comes with everything. It move them about 2.5 inches which for me 6'1" was perfect. Be sure to get Dot 5 brake fluid as you need to disconnect the rear brake master cylinder to install a new banjo fitting. Good time to get the speed bleeders which makes bleeding brakes a snap. If your thinking about replacing them, you do have lots of choices.

I used the 3inch extentions from big dog as well no problems got them from Vicki since I didn't want to replace everything

Shredder, I got to see your bike at the shop a few weeks back and the pics dont do it justice... Awesome ride and it gave me some great ideas for mine...

I see yours and Reapers are Accutronix, they both look great but are they available extended?

Slowrower and Backon I know BD has the kit to extend mine but by the time I buy them and have the whole thing chromed It would be cheaper and easier to buy chrome extended controls if I can find them.

Unless Nelson can make a killer deal on the chrome controls and chrome extension kit for me...Nelson???

Wicked ride Reaper...I love the tribal controls...I wish I could get BDM to make extended tribal controls in chrome all together...That would be perfect...

Thanks, I appreciate it. Actually Accutronix does make those extended. They come in if I remember correctly three sizes, or lengths. Set back, standard, and extended. I have the standard which are the equivilent of Bigdog extended. Give Accutronix a call, and they will be able to tell you what you need to know to make sure you get the proper length for you, and your bike.

Thanks for your comments about my bike, I look forward to actually getting it back in the next week or two. Reaper, your controls look awesome, very nicely done. I'm sure Reaper would agree that the quality of the Accutronix are top notch. Here is the link for the seller on Ebay I bought mine from. By the time you buy the Accutronix from him and sell your stock ones on Ebay your net cost should only be about $350 or $400. A no brainer for a quality chrome forward control. You can contact this seller or just watch his auctions. And I agree with Reaper, the standard Accutronix length equal BD extended. I am 6-2 and these are much more comfortable for me. I also bought the matching Accutronix shift linkage from this Ebay seller as well. Good luck.

Thank you, I appreciate the comments. You are right, the quality of Accutronix, is unmatched in my opinion. If you look at allot of custom show bikes, they are equipped with Accutronix. They are a bit pricey, but worth every penny.:2thumbs:

Reaper and Shredder thanks for the replies.

Accutronix makes a great product. Its nice to know their standard is BDM extended. I would of messed that up!

Working to get set up with the Accutronix guys now .... hopefully we'll be able to add them to the stable in April. Sorry guys ... playing catch up !

How do we know what forward controls will fit our bikes, or are they standard? I've got an 04 Chopper with the Daytech frame and was looking to change mine...

Hey Nelson(WB) did you ever hear anything from Accutronic about becoming a dealer? Man, I got on their web and their stuff looks good!!! E-mailed the guy Shredder bought his controls from and he said the Kickbacks are the same length as our bigdog stock, the Standard will move them forward 2", and the Extended will move them forward 4".

Heard any news yet I'm thinking of getting me some of these, maybe next week?
