Forward Controls - What size for 6'-4"

Dawgs,

I'm 6'-4'' and about to get my first Dog (2007 Pitbull). I'm sure the pegs will feel a little tight as I have a 36" inseam. Also, I see on this forum that there is a gentleman selling both 3'' and 5'' extensions. Just wondering if there is anyone (or preferably more than one) person who could provide some insight as to the best extension for someone my height.

Thank you.

Don't know about Pittbull, but on my K9 I have 5" extension. My jeans have 36" inseam and I'm happy with mine.
Maybe if you have shorter legs (under 33" I suppose) the ange of your foot to peg changes too much and your foot easily stars to slip on pegs.
Also if legs are too straight it may make cornering more difficult or unsecure since there is no support of you legs. Hope you understand my meaning.
Hope that helps.
Sorry my clumsy english.

I am inseamed challenged so I wouldn't know but I would get the bike first and then decide. Congrats on the bike!

I'm 6'1" 34 inseam. Just purchase the 3" ext dm custom. Its perfect length for me. Any more out and I wouldnt be able to rest my ankle on the foot peg when crusing. I think he does sell a 4" ext. I thought I read somebody made one. You being 2" longer inseam should be able to go with a 5" or 4 if you dont want it to stick out that far.

I'm 6'4 and have 6" extensions and I just bought some more 1/2" plate to play around some more.
The one concern overlooked here is the length of the brake cable...
It may fit with the extensions but will really screw up taking the rear wheel off!

If you go over 2” you will most likely have to get longer brake line, or install extension to that too. That really is not a major problem though.

When I bought my K-9 it already had extended controls on it. How do you take the measurement to see what size the extended controls are?

If you have the stock controls you can measure from the existing bolt hole in the control to the new bolt hole on the extension(backer plate). That would be how long extension they are. If they are aftermarket controls it would be hard to tell.

I'm 6'4" also. I have the big dog 2.5" extensions on mine. I fit on the bike a lot better now,but wish I would have got the 4",or 5" kit from D&M. Since it sounds like you're the same height, and inseam as me,I'd recommend getting one of the longer kits.
