a little back story, my wife has never been able to ride on any of my bikes due to her back. my buddy Brian has a 07 k9 and we tried it I sat on then she got on said wow this is comfy I could ride on here. so Brian loaned it to me for Sturgis, we had a awesome time and rode every where. when I got home I found one exactly the same to buy, or at least I thought it was exactly the same. it warmed up today to 28 degrees so I took it for a ride. the controls feel like they are way out there. by looking can you tell if this has forward extensions?
this is the bike I bought. do these look extended?

this is the bike I took to Sturgis

next I have been gathering everything to put a sissy bar on it. struts, sissy bar, seat pad, back pad and plate. as I said above 28 degrees riding weather lol. so I went to basement got the seat went down to storage and put seat on bike.... are there different passenger seats, cause the passenger seat on my buddys bike looked nothing like this when it was on.

what do I need to get?

Forward controls look normal but thats the wrong passenger pad. Look up seatmaker on this site. He will hook you up.
Good luck

The passenger seat is the wrong one, the seat and controls on the bike in the picture look correct. I would check the bike you took to Sturgis and see if it had a '' push seat" that moves you closer to the controls.

the passenger pegs don't look right, I could be wrong but it looks like they need to be swapped, I'm sure more guys here will chime in to help you get the correct set up.

Yes those are for sure extended pegs you got on there so yes they are 2.5" longer then stock. That is definitely not the p-pad for that bike either..........

Nice bike tho good luck sure you could find someone on the forum here that would like to have the extensions and would be glad to swap you the stock ones for those. That is how I got mine for and even swap!

Those forward controls are not the normal controls. I have the same ones and they are the 2.5 extended controls. Now the seat is another story, but if mama likes it what can I say. :2thumbs:

the bike I took to Sturgis Brians he is suppose to send me pictures maybe Saturday when he gets a day off. I looked thru my Sturgis pictures I can't find very good ones of his seat combo.

best I can do for a photo of brains set up on his seat

as for the down tube sticker, dude I have had the bike out of storage twice since uship brought it to me. bike has less then 4000 miles on it the reflectors will be coming off the down tube sticker and i'll find a different seat.

will forward controls, stock ones off a 07 mastiff fit this?

Let me know if you want to swap forward controls. I have the original ones and could use the extended ones at my 6' height…

And when I go riding two up, I prefer this seat. I bet your wife would too:

They are not cheap or easy to come about but worth every penny...

06 and 07 interchange I am new.

does shift linkage get changed as well?
Not sure, we could just swap that too, mine is stock and polished. The rest interchange I know. Besides, we can just measure the shift link and they might be equal...

Looking at your pictures though, do you have an extended setup on your LH side and stock on your RH side? Might want to measure that….

Sounds good. Measure it and take some close up pics and I'll do the same. I'll be back home on Wednesday but who is in a hurry in this weather?
