Personally, i just hate the ranting about bdm... before this site I never put a hand on a bike. As many of us have stated, I bought my bike knowing what kinda bike it was, and here was the place that with the help of you guys I learned about it. Basics, troubleshooting and help is all here.

That being said, i think Knotsos thread "forum etiquette" should be posted under the introduction section in the principal page of this forum.

Ps. No names will be shown!

I agree; I also think it should be included in a terms of service/usage for signing up. I also think it should be considered to add another section of the forum for pity seekers; we could call it the 'tissue box'. It's probably a good thing I don't run the show...hahah....:D

Yeah! Although It wouldn't hurt to change up the spelling a bit on etiquette...
No offense on the spelling. We just want it to look professional.

I have to agree with BigMex here. Less rules are better. Eventually, we'll end up like that "other" site and not allow nudity and curse words. We've already taken politics out of conversation. Just my :zz2cents:

I ride my bike to escape the pressures of every day life. I don't ride in groups who tell me how to ride (H.O.G) or with people who bring me down. You guys have a lot of rules for bikers. I'm waiting for this forum to force people to post an introduction before they're allowed to make comments or start new threads. Lighten up guys; it's just a web forum.

I could give a damn if a guy posts an intro. I don't care who you are, if you got a question I can answer, I'll help. If you never post again once that question is answered, good for you, your bike is running great. Keep in mind that many guys, like myself, found this forum out of frustration with a mechanical problem. We all throw tools every once in awhile, so you can't fault a guy who comes here crying because he's been banging his head against the wall for 2 days. Search through my old posts to see how clueless I was when I got here. I have no sympathy for dudes who bitch about BD service and warranty shit, and then you hand them a screwdriver and they look at it like it's a loaded gun.

IGNOR THEM

I just ignor those people that join the site and instantly try to get a rise out of the members by saying their slanderous bullshit. If they are ignored they go away. People like that are just trying to instigate arguments for their own entertainment. Let em post all they want, we don't have to respond.

OK, i'm throwing myself under the bus here again.

all new members, welcome, if you are here to learn, have a good time, join in on discussions about whatever (except politics and religion) share pictures of your favorite ?, let others know of events in your area, ask how to fix whatever is wrong with your dog (as long as you have at least tried to find answers by using the "search" tool at the top of the page) just don't come with the attitude that you are God's gift to the human race and start throwing shit at the people here that are trying to help you. i'm sorry that you are having trouble with your dog and not getting to ride as much as you would like to, but there are only two real options, take it to a dealer or fix it yourself. personally, i don't want to read all the bitching that takes place from the guys that think since they "own a $30k+ custom" that there shouldn't be anything wrong with it and if something does happen the company should jump through hoops trying to make the customer happy. hell, go buy a new car and see how far down the road you get before you find a problem, then take it back to the dealer and see how long it takes to get it fixed. i'm not saying that BDM shouldn't stand behind their product, not by any stretch of the imagination, i'm saying there are logical limits to their responsibilities.

so i guess what i am trying to say is "leave the bitchin' at the door" and we will all get along better, and we will enjoy the forum a whole lot more, except for those that are only here to cause problems.:cheers:

THIS IS MY OPINION AND DOES NOT REFLECT ON ANYONE ELSE.

We all come here for a variety of reasons and stay or leave for a variety of reasons.

We have few actual rules, politics, racial and religion, no bashing, or attacking another member, vendor, sponsor or any business. Most of these are common sense things and the politics and religion came about from feedback from the forum members. These items will first get you a PM before further action is taken.

The Intro thing is common courtesy and some of us are quick to ask for one, yet if not, you are still more than welcome to stay and are encouraged to participate. While it would be nice for all to toss up an Intro, some just are not comfortable doing so and others are on a secret mission and are in hiding and thus will tell us nothing.

Most only arrive at this site while looking for assistance for their scoots while the rest may be having no issues with their scoots and are riding or never have a reason to look for a site such as this. I have met other hound owners on the road that have many miles and no bike issues, and when this site is mentioned they had no idea we existed.

We do ask that a SEARCH be utilized as most likely this topic has been covered in detail and offers up a lot of solutions. If the answer is still not found, by all means ask.

Most on this site are mature and are more than happy to help those who are the same.

We do ask that you do not have an attitude, bitch and whine, pout, stomp feet and what not, not cool and not needed. There are other sites for ppl like that

We are all here for a common reason, Motorcycles.

Riders helping riders.

Bottom line? Less rules the better IMO.

Well, first off, the constitution is a "living document" and is forever changing. But I'm with you TK. Let's dump this thread and get back to bikes, beer and babes (not always in that order). So what if we get a few assholes from time to time. It kinda perks up the forum if you ask me. All in all, a great group of members that for the most part, follow the few rules already established. Let's keep it simple. Not smart enough to keep up with too many rules anyway.:whoop::cheers:
