I need to have my Fork Seals done. I am going to order the parts.

I have done them on my dirt bikes before, and I have also paid to have them done on a dirt bike before.

Curious for this, and later on down the road things I may not want to tackle my self (although I have now had most the bike apart so not alot scares me)

Where should I take it? anyone got a guy in this area?

I know the few main shops: Rocket Harley, Midway, Cycle Nation.

Order the fork seals from WSW's. He increases the size of the o-ring in the cap so it keeps your forks clean and he has the bushings and all you need for a great price.

now, even though you ARE going to strap the bike to the jack, you will want to put something under the back tire to keep it from being ass heavy when you remove the front tire and the forks. the jack will need to be close to full height to get the fork clear.

Ok, bike lifted and strapped down. Got it all disassembled. Both forks all the way off and separate, top caps off, Springs and spacers out, fluid drained, and flushed both forks with diesel per Curtis request.

Now If I could just get the damn DUST CAPS OFF.... going to buy some strap wrenches today at lunch to see if that will help. them Bitches are on there tight, and its a slippery part to try and grab tight with out marking up the shinny aluminum. after that I should be good to go with the parts swapping (Bushings, spacers, seals, crushwashers, and then use my new PVC seal pusher) then fill up with new fluid. have 20w for that.

any ideas on removing them caps feel free to post.

Place some electric tape on them and then use the strap-wrench :2thumbs:

I saw Andrew doing it on my bike! :D

Your plugging right along so good on you
Sorry your the only one I have to call for pointers man, I fell bad asking but only way to learn sometimes. I like to think of my self as pretty good wrench turner, (have pulled motors, trannys, rear ends, and worked on all my stuff) but sometimes you need someone thats been there to bounce an idea or question off of. I REALLY appritiate the ability to call you for that, let alone parts. You take care of me and I know it. I do my best to buy anything bike related from you.

but the bike has new areas i am learning. I will say its easier and more fun to tinker with then some of the other things with it being so open.

Well strap wrenches worked on one side, but I broke 2 new strap wenches, tried using the rubber with big channel locks, also the rubber with a giant monkey wrench... still no luck on the other side.

Used a torch, and tried heating the cap, then tried heating the cap, and cooling the bottom with cold water, and still nothing,... fucking POS. haha

have it lubbed up with PB blaster and some wd40, will pick up some penetrating oil tonight.

Tried the penatraiting oil all night, some special w3d40 rust pentrating stuff, PB blaster, new strap wrenches, wood with a hammer to rattle it loose, also a Chain wrentch (like vise grips with chain around the object, with rubber to protect the metal)

nothing. damn POS.

Got the other side all the way done. if i can just get the dust cap off it would all be done in 30 min...
