Fork Oil

Hi All,

I changed the fork oil on my 2003 Chopper and my front end rattles. I have read that it takes 10oz of fluid but it doesn't say for my year. Does anyone know if it is the same for all years if not does anyone happen to know how much fork oil for 03 Chopper?

03-04 are pretty much the same. Plus, a wide glide front end is a wide glide front end. 1 put 10 oz in each fork leg. They reccomend for our years 10 wt. I went up to 30 wt to help slow down the rebound.

How many miles do you have on the forks since your last rebuild

I have 13000 miles on it. I measured 10oz of fork fluid. I get wobbly between 55mph to 65 but after that it smooths out. Balanced tire maybe? The forks are a different issue tho, I hear them rattle when I hit a bump.

if you didnt rebuild the forks with new bushings, this is something that you have to do. you may have already damaged the fork legs and if not you are close to doing so. check out this how to.
