Fork Oil weight?

The Hardly Heavy Duty fork oil is actually 30 weight:old2:
That's what I'm running in mine.:chopper:
Yep I just double checked I run 30w too either belray or PJ1.

And I only ran 20w once in the ridgeback I was wondering if it might soften the ride a bit and it didn't and hated it overall that not even 10w! 10W? Holy smokes that's gotta be soft!

This is an interesting conversation. I am about to change mine. I have 20 and 30 avail. I have 20 in it now. I think it rides fine but will 30 make it stick to the road better or will it "bang more"?

30w is best for me 100%. I know some guys prefer 20w or lower so it's all based on preference and riding style.

Personally I like the firm feeling and it's not firm in 20w.

... the weight of the rider(s) and gear play a big part in the dampening/rebound effect of the forks/shocks and should be taken in consideration when choosing the 'best' oil/spring/preload combination.
 
I’m not sure I understand the debate, shouldn’t what is recommended in the manual be used? I’m sure that the recommendation will achieve he optimum performance.

something for thought. when I changed mine, I put in 20w and it seemed the K9 did not respond as well when cornering. a little too soft for my taste.

Same here, when I put 20 in there was not a lot of noticeable difference until I was getting off a four lane hwy exit a little too hot and got some front wheel bounce.
