Foot Boards or Floor Boards

Hey gang,
I consider my bike a hot rod, and for you die hard hot rod type of guys, there's no other option than foot pegs. However, for those long rides, it would be nice to have some type of variation. I plan on going on a few 300-400 mile trips this year, not including all the day to day riding, and short 100-200 mile trips. I find my most comfort with my foot pegs by wedging my riding boots between the pegs and brake/shifter.

So I was looking around on the gallery area and saw where a user, Claymation, has foot boards/floor boards. It looks pretty decent b/c they are small. Check them out here:

Ideally I'd like to get some floor boards to use on long trips, and then on day to day use pull them off and use my pegs. I did a search on here and didn't see anything about this option. It would be nice to have this other option, just like some users have the option to install or remove their sissy bars.

Does anyone on here use floorboards? Does anyone know if these pegs are standard and floor boards will just bolt up? Any other thoughts from users?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I'll have to find out who makes those floor boards. I would like to set mine up that way.

Well :loony::loony: I think you are in for some good and bad comments on these. Kind of like the ones we all got for installing a windshield :roll: and lizard lights  They look good to me, but Good Luck

Those may be a good idea for many. Some will talk shit but who cares its your bike.

I wonder if u could use the bdm bulldog boards? Otherwise a simple hd peg adapter and go from there.

Yeah, I know people are gonna come in here and flame, but I would say those people are the ones that are bar hopping and not touring on their bikes. I like to stop as much as often just to stretch (I have shoulder and knee issues) but even a run of up to 80 miles strait is enough to hope for more than a peg.

Options are always nice...all it is, is big Allen bolts, so you could easily change them back and forth like I'm planning on doing.

My buddy said that his wife would love to have floorboards instead of pegs for her feet, has anyone tried to do this on a K9 for the passenger? Seems like a little comfort never hurt, if it makes you happy, go for it.

alhall, that's pretty neat. Looks like freestyle bicycle pedals. Mind sharing where you found them? Also, did they just bolt up without adapters?

I tried a pair a while back that I got from Vickie and the problem was as soon as you put some weight on them they would rotate no matter how much loctite I used.

They were the HD style and only had a 5/16 bolt, maybe the bigdog boards are the ticket as they use a 1/2 bolt.
Also check your thread engagement my bolts were a bit short and only had about 2 1/2 turns into the peg, I bought longer bolts (SHCS) and ended up with about 5 turns.

I ended up using Kuryakyn adaptors and widow pegs, they work well but not as good as boards would.

These were on the Dog when i purchased it, i believe they are a smaller board for passenger on a Harley. Seeings i came from a 95 Bagger i was allready used to floorboards.

If you need pictures from below the boards i can take some

Can you take some pictures underneath and on the shift side also. Maybe there is a brand or part number stamp underneath. I would love to change to a floorboard
