Folding tag bracket

So I'm looking at puting on one of the sidemount BDM license plate brackets on my Husky. Problem is that my frame doesn't have the large tab that the newer BD's have that to mount it to.

But I do a small tab that holds on the chrome belt guard (LSD).......so I'm thinking about trying to mount to that.

My question is..... How much does the bracket (folding tag bracket style) stick out from the physical plate (inches)? I'm hoping it would be about an inch or inch and 1/4 so that it would clear my swingarm ( my mounting tab is on the inside of the swingarm). Hopefully if its long enough I can just buy a folding tag bracket without having to get my buddy to make a "spacer" on the CNC. Thanks in advance

Why don't you look into the plate mounts that use the derby cover on the primary to mount.

I had a folding bracket and didn't like it. When it is open it sticks out even further than the stock mount. Plate flip works and looks better.

waykool Right now its mounted on the back fender which I'm going for a different look my putting it on the side.

I also looked at doing an axle mount.....but was hard pressed to find one without a tail light. but that is still an option. I tried the kuaryakn one that mounts on the swingarm but it didn't turn out very well.

I thought about a derby cover one but would really hate to part ways with my custom done POW one that I have now.

I never thought about plate flipping the stock BDM lic. mount......putting it vertical might actually give me enough room to clear the frame..hmmmm. I also see what your saying about the folding bracket...sticking out so far. But in my case I would be using the extra inch to go to the inside of the frame mount...which I'm thinking in-turn would put me about the same width sticking out as a stock bracket.

Same here, I just bought one from moespeeds for a great deal but didn't like it either maybe I'll sell it.

I have mine stuck on the top left corner of my license plate...both license/inspection tags all together and in plain sight in case you get a cop that's a horses ass.
