Hello, I have a 2003 BD Chopper. New starter... when I hit the start button, the Jackshaft engages the flywheel and the flywheel just spins. Would anyone be able to help with this problem please.

What model?

Is that an S&S 107?

Did you just replace starter?

Were the symptoms the exact same before you replaced the starter?

Why did you replace the starter? Please provide these details.

Maybe we can help......thanks Bud

Take the spark plug out so you can see in cylinder.

Lift rear wheel off ground.

Put transmission in high gear.

Spin rear wheel by hand, simultaneously check piston with straw (put straw on top of piston) and let us know if piston is going up and down.

If you remove both plugs, front and rear, the wheel will be easier to turn.

If the starter and flywheel are both turning like you've mentioned, then the Pistons should be moving when you turn the wheel by hand.

Listen closely for and strange noises in bottom end while checking piston.

Let us know...

Thank you, when I get home from work ill do it all. I literally just got the bike. Ive started it 3 times before it would start again. Im usually pretty handy with bikes but this seems a little to deep.

Does anyone know the size of bolts for the clutch basket? Thank you. I was thinking 5/16×24×3/4. Not a 100 percent sure dur to them being broke.

You may find some parts here if not they have the entire assembly. Aint cheap, but cool never is.

As a matter of fact, post a picture of the bummed up hole. I've done several and just had to remove the broken bolts. Haven't seen one mess up the bolt holes yet
