Hello
Just want to throw out a post about my experience with doing the fluid changes on the 07 Mastiff. I'm the second owner of the bike and got it with 3000 miles on it, so I am not even sure if the first guy even did the break in fluid change. I drained all the fluids (current miles 3600) and everything looked normal. no metal chunks or really burnt smell. pulled the primary just to look around and check on the clutch pack from sitting for so long. Was having the notorious neutral problem at red lights.... found primary chain very loose ( 1 1/2 inch + slop ) set it to about 7/8 per the manual..... put new seal on primary cover and installed per manual .... new oil ... went with redline on everything ..... especially redline shockproof in the trans. ....... reset and lubed the clutch push rod.... set clutch cable slack.... and now runs and shifts like a dream.... even at red lights... no problem with neutral...... I did replace the clutch pack nut with the new hardened one and torqued to 120 ftlbs..... due to all the reading I did that says it should be higher than what the manual says at 80 ftlbs.......
QUESTION: where can I get the Tech bulletins or service bulletins that tell you things like the higher torque value for the clutch nut.?????
But all in all i just want to say i think fixing the loose chain and going to a better oil helped my neutral issue.
Ride safe my friends.....
