I would think that if you have out of state plates, you are exempt. So long as you are complying with YOUR state's laws regarding tags. Pretty much those window tint laws and driving/visiting different states. So long as you are abiding by your state's (the state's tags you have) you would be ok. But I'm no lawyer or LEO. Your results may vary... :(

Ummm you would think so but don't know if it is worth the chance
of getting pulled over after having a road pop at Froggy's:cheers:

My tag will be displayed "horizontal" at Biketoberfest, but with the shorter side down. Daytona LEO's can be dicks, but I have avoided most problems by not being too loud, or too fast. I stay out of New Smyrna...definitely not biker friendly, always looking for a way to hassle you.
If I get busted for the tag, I am going to rely on BB Chopper to post the bail. He said he was bringing some extra cash for such matters. BB, you got my back, right? BB? BB?

I don't see how they could issue tickets for anybody with tags that were not issued by the state of Flordia. This is a law that should only affect Flordia tags. I f I have my Maryland tag verticial and I break Maryland law, who the hell is a Flordia LEO to issue my a ticket. I don't know, but this sounds like a crock of shit. The problem is, you would have to travel back down there to fight the ticket at a later date. You would think with all of the problems we are having in this country we wouldn't worry about a tag on a motorcycle.

Discretionary enforcement is also an issue. In the early 90's, Florida passed a law providing for maximum bumper heights on vehicles. The legislature was after the jacked up mud trucks that are so prevalent here. I had a tall CJ-7 that violated the law. Never got stopped, but never gave them a reason to stop me either.
It will be interesting to see if anyone gets stopped just for the tag, as opposed to hauling ass, loud pipes or whatever.
I will make sure that if Barney pulls me over, it will be only because he wants to check out the paint job or the chick, or to bust my balls for the tag.:D
