I know this is a post that will probably get me beaten with a pipe wrench...but I am not new to the BDM scene, just fading from it.
As the kids get older I find less time to ride, but when I do it typically involves taking one of the kids with me, or running errands. A 5 hour afternoon ride with the guys is a thing of the past...for now.
I sold my FXST to get an '03 Chopper back in '05 because I liked the look and stretch of a chopper (I'm 6'4").
The rough ride, temperamental S&S Shorty, frame scraping, and unwillingness for the starter to sometimes turn the engine over were just traits that made my bike 'unique' compared to all the vanilla Harley's.
Anyway, I am thinking of getting back into a Harley. :loony:
I would sell my Chopp to get an FLHX.
Has anyone done this and if so, thoughts? I am just wondering if the ride, dependability, and storage will overshadow the blandness and small upright riding position of a Harley bagger.
Thanks guys!
