There are pros and cons to both as you know. Only you can evaluate what is more important to you. Unless you can afford both, you need to define the qualities most important in your scoot. Practicality is high on the list - this coming from a 2 chopper guy, so its not as high as some other points for me.

Both have different functions and will still get you to the places you want to go

I personally would miss the chopper and couldnt part with mine .... Coach sold his chopper and got a harley, maybe he will chime in.

Dude, I understand where your coming from. I now have 3 scoots and it's not enough. I guess lucky for me I have a strong willed wife to keep me somewhat in check.
Do what fits your family needs, don't listen to everyone's viewpoint, they're like assholes they all stink.

We do have a couple two or three guys who made the switch. Coach switched. Bbc bought a bagger to go along with his BD. Im sure there are more than that. Do your thing. Make the switch if it's a must. You'll take a shot in the wallet on the dog right now too. How about holding onto the dog for a bit and testing the water? When you are sure that's the move you want to make do it.

gasman completely rebuilt his chopper (called it Phoenix, check out the LOOONG thread) and shortly thereafter sold it and bought a bagger.

I have the Dog, which is a fun noisy ride... Then I have my Honda Goldwing GL1800, (a sport bike on steriods!), can ride 900 miles in a day and plenty of storage. I feel I truly have the best of both worlds!

I sold my Ridgback shortly after I bought my Ultra Limited, I thought I wouldn't be riding it much. 4 months later I was missing the Ridge so I ended up getting a new K9. The only thing that came out of that is someone else got a nice Ridgeback from me.

I'm getting older & kept loseing my Black FLHX at bike week. Now with a White K-9, it never gets lost in a crowd (kidding).

Do what you like but I don't think I'll be going back.

.I have both also,but,no one can make that decision for you.It all depends on what you want,when i ride distance the dog is parked and out comes the vanilla bagger :roll:.
