The Thunder Max is your ECM. Never seen one on a BigDog before. That’s a Harley ECM unit and EFI controller. Not sure what that is between your tanks…

The little guard dog ignition module is the keyless security, I’ll clean the plug and get greased back up. Why style should the ecm be if not the thunder max. I’m starting to think the man had not got to ride it like he says he did. Recent, he lost the key fob ,so he he’d that thunder max installed and it is suppose to be a stage 2 he said. And it’s throwing a code 325

I bet the EHC took a crap and this is the only thing the shop knew to do? Honestly your best solution is to get a new EHC and a harness from Curtis @ Wild Steed Worx. And if you are not comfy doing the work, you aint far from Knothead, 'Second Chance Customs'. He can for sure have you in the saddle ripping up Kentucky.

Like I said that ECM is mostly installed on H-D. Check you-tube out. There are some videos on how to diagnose/clear the codes on the Thunder-Max. I’m not 100% sure but I think Thunder-Max is manufactured by Thunderheart. Could be wrong & probably am. I’m with Harry. Get that bike to Knothead and let him get it right for you.

If it was me I would call digital guard dog and talk with them about a new keyless entry and see if that's why forsure the bike is doing what's its doing... and then I would call thundermax about the ehc if that is part of the problem also.

Changing this bike back to factory and removing all the efi stuff and putting it back to carb is going to be crazy high money wise. I'm not trying to be rude or anything but it will cost way more than the bike is worth...04 mastiff only worth around 5500.00 to 8000.00 tops.

When I call them, just tell them how it’s acting and go from there. How much would you charge me to put another EHC on my bike. I’ll have to sell my sportster but ok. I’m still building it but I know a man that said he would buy it. Well he said he would pay the price at a shop and let me finish it for him

I will go look but the one plug has a red a black and a white wire and the white wire is pulled apart right at the plug and there is a tiny black wire that is pulled apart. And I think it goes to the module. I going to eat and then I’ll go chase the wire. The is a set of wires that are butt connected but the wire are pink, red/black and a red. But the wire are not connected to the same color. For some reason the pink wire is connected to two wires the red/black and the red wire. And the other wires are connoted but none of the three wires are connected to the same color.ill go get a photo or video to show you how they are hooked up and and where this plug the three small wires were connected to what I thought was the crank sensor but I might be wrong on this. Its wires connected to a three prong plug with the wires red,green and black. Little bitty wires and the other plug is a two prong and the guy I got the bike from said his shift light was different but the two prong wire goes to the neutral, shift lights
