Finding CAM Size?

I think I already know the answer to this, but I'll ask it anyway. I'm trying to figure out what size cam I have in my 02 Pitbull. It sounds like a couple different sizes were used that year. I called S&S, but I've got one of the BD assembled engines, so they couldn't tell me. Is there a relatively simple way to figure out what I've got without actually pulling it out? Anybody have any luck getting bike specs out of BDPP?

That said - anyone know any good wrenches in the Des Moines area? I'm interesting in hooking up with someone who might be able to give me some hand's on education on some of this stuff...

I've talked to BDPP and was told all info on specific bikes went with BDM when they closed.

Well other than pullin the cam you could lift up the push rod cover and use a indicator to measure lifter travel when you rotate the motor. Take the measurment and multiply by 1.625 which is the rocker arm ratio.

.37 inches of travel off the base circle X 1.625 = .600

Sounds easy but you would need some very accurate and sturdy tools.

I got 2 screw drivers, pliers and a roll of wire :D

If you pull the nose cone the cam should have some markings. And you need to looosen all your pushrods before you pull the cover.
