finally

sorry, my humor can kinda be smartass sometimes. i have the gas caps loosen up quite a bit. i notice a vent line under the dash that has a cap on it, can i run a vent line under there so i dont have to have caps loose?

I wish I had more money.
It is under the dash. The thing is that these years that we have are good years as far as the ehc issues. It was 04 an on that had any. Just a thought. If it is the issue ours are much cheaper too. I have one here that May work on yours. The thing doesn't work the brake lights or blinkers. Butthe bike will run goo. If you want to try it to see it that is your issue let me know and I will mail it to you.

is this ehc thing i am reading about the same thing as the thunderheart module under the dash?

the guy that sold me the coil and fixed the coil cover so it would fit tells me to rip out the thunderheart ign and put in a crane ign. do u know if this is a complicated thing to do?

ok....I ran into the same prob;ems as you did with the coil....dc6-1....what the hell..is thing for a mod v-8....wouldn't fit..even thou BD has it in their manual as a direct replacment....crap by the way I got an 00' ?????????

I went with a CRANE HI-4, "THE COMPACT ONE" but a little too late..looks like you got the coil thing straightened out!!!!

With your "dieing" problem..I would look at your ignition sensor..in the nose cone....just below your front cylinder....lower part of your front cyl exhaust.....should say something like " Big DOG MOTORCYCLES" ON IT. I've had to replace 3 of thme so far with my scoot, doing something to same problem as you described....p/n OEM harley 32400-80A..which you should be able to find at a H-d dealer near you, or order one up from j&p cycles or sort. they run about $40-60, 3 wires if I remember correctly. Easy fix......If thats the problem....kinda sounds like it is with it dieing all of a sudden..after running for a while..."PM" if you have any questions..or "pm" me if you find the problem!!!!!

FUCK Crane!

Plastic fuckin garbage!

The crane ignition cam pick ups after only 200 miles

Notice its all plastic. The unit is imported from who knows where. It self gernaded.

The Dyna 2ki (suggested by Marv and many others)

All metal made in Kalifornia

went for a ride last nite. ran sweet on the way out then left me stranded waiting for the pickup to come get me and the dog. went and got a dyna 2000i and am gonna replace ignition and see where that leaves me(hopefully not on the side of the road after dark) oh and while sittin on the side of the road i did replace battery. manb the parts list is growin faster than the milage. i appreciate all the input im gettin now.

i installed the dyna ignition today and went for a short ride. ran nice no problems. plan on taking longer ride tomorrow weather permitting. think this could have been my problem.

well after buying the bike and having to spend a grand in repairs i think im on the road. put around a hundred miles on it today without a problem. plugs look the way they should. so tomorrow we load it up and head out on a four hour ride to spend four days riding around. wish me luck..
