Fender Strut Question

Energy One
2004 Big Dog Chopper (250 rear)
Hello...can anyone tell me what these holes are for on the ends of my fender struts. The 3rd photo shows a threaded hole underneath almost like for a curved sissy bar. I always assumed the fever struts had holes in the top to mount a straight sissy bar. The holes are approximately 11 inches on center. Thanks for the help!

Those are indeed for a rear loading sissy bar and yep threaded bolt goes in the bottom.

The bar is tapered at the end so the bot from the bottom holds it in place

Kinda like this.....

Awesome...thanks! It confused me also. I happened to see a 2004 Pitbull sissy bar on eBay, which got me to thinking (bad idea), but it's 14"on center; I assume for a 300 rear. Is it possible they used another set of fender struts from a different Big Dog?

04 Pits run a 250 rear tire. The struts look like the ones on my Pit.

They made a 250 and 300 rear loading bar. 300 was limited to the 05/06 Ridgebacks only.

I think your right 14" sounds right for a 300

Thank you very much! This is the 04 Pitbull sissy bar they had on eBay, (which got me thinking; probably for a 300)...I'll do some looking around...does seem I can manufacturer my own with my pipe bender, machine and taper ends and have it chromed (but I think big) ;)
