note I have pistol grip handlebars so the grips are much closer together than on stock bars.
It's always vibrated some or maybe I just haven't noticed but is it normal for the front end to wobble/vibrate when hand(s) are off the bar?
Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's not too bad.

Is this while bike is moving or when sitting at idle (stopped)? At idle (stopped) if the bushings and bearings are bad (neck and handlebar to triple trees) I have seen bikes that will have a vibration even down to the wheels. If you are talking about while riding the answer is no the bike should not vibrate or wobble when you take your hand off the grip. Some HD have a death wobble...check your wheel bearings and motor mounts.

Just a thought. A friend of mine with a Harley recently purchased new tires and one of them gave him a vibration. It turned out to be a known issue and they replaced the tire. If you can correlate the wobble/ vibration to getting new tires maybe that could be it. Losing a balance weight could give you issues as well.

the (front) tire's a bit worn and I'll check the pressure and then ride before checking the other stuff
