Here Are The Details


The long awaited motorcycle escorted convoy from NYC to Bradenton, Florida with steel beams from the World Trade Center towers is on.

Firefighters from Southern Manatee Fire Rescue in Bradenton, FL are transporting a couple steel beams from NYC to their FL administration headquarters to construct a memorial to honor all the people effected by the attacks of September 11th, 2001.

They request motorcycle escorts during the 1200 mile route. Riders can join for an hour, a state, a couple states, the entire route...whatever suits you. Just take a look at the itinerary above and JOIN IN !!!

The convoy ends at the Firkin & Fox Tavern on SR64 Manatee Ave E, Bradenton Fl. at about 8pm on Sunday July 18th. There will be a live band and great American fellowship....even if you don't ride a cycle and you live in the area...JOIN US !!

Here Is The Itinerary Of The Stops

The itinerary should be accurate within an hour, barring traffic jams, no mechanical problems, etc. and the contact cell numbers for those transporting the steel are included, so that you can contact them as needed.

the truck should be in Florida by now (3:45 pm). i picked them up at the 21 m/m on southbound I-95 and rode with them until we got off at Ga-204 (about 35-40 miles) and ate lunch at Hardee's to try to make up a little lost time. there were about 40 bikes in the front and me and one other rider in the rear who had gone up and back with them since fri. morning. the lead bikes got off outside savannah before we stopped for lunch. all the firefighters seemed like real good people. best of luck with the memorial. :flag::flag::flag::flag::flag::flag:

waykool thanks for the post one day i will get pc litterate. was a great ride picked them up in lakeland and rode to bradenton. great welcome at friken fox somber moment when they opened up trailer and there was two beams covered up with americam flag. got some good pics but again not to smart on pc maybe when my 20 year old comes for a visit i will post them. thanks again and ride safe.

The steel from the World Trade Center arrived at 9:11 PM Sunday evening. This event was a huge success. Thanks for those all up and down the east coast that assisted in the escort!!!!
