I've never had washers on my studs but don't see a problem with them. I like those you found. I had my issues with the exhaust studs breaking after my Sturgis trip this year.
Oh by the way, a pair of exhaust studs from my local HD dealer was $16.

Just FYI, 12 point fasteners are awesome and great looking but just a hint, make sure you use a good quality socket on them whether it is a straight or a 'wobbly' and have the socket seated squarely when wrenching on them. Aircraft use these exclusively and people are always using worn out sockets or dont have them on straight and round the nuts off. Real biotch to get off when this happens. Love them things, gonna get a set of'em. Thanks!!
