Exhaust gaskets???

Look closer it might just be compressed so its hard to see.
But there most certainly is suppose to be one there.
You will want to put new ones in to avoid leaks.

Found it.. There is a torque cone jammed in the opening. Gaskets are behind it. They are shot also, the last guy put the cones in thinking it needed more back pressure, now it breaks up around 3k rpm and not taking full throttle when blasting open quickly, sounds like a machine gun, a slow roll on it runs fine. Not sure about my next move after this.
Thanks

Try dropping the cones and running a new gasket and see where it sits--you might be surprised.

torque cones are not recommended for larger motors. see them allot on sportster bobbers. I agree you should remove the cones

Always good to keep a couple of sets on hand...you never know when you need to pull the exhaust to get to something.

Torque cones will usually help when using straight pipes and/or short pipes. Large motor or small motor don't matter.
The absolute BEST exhaust gaskets are Cometic 9540. :2thumbs:
