I am after some Exhaust gaskets as I am going to install a new V&H Big Radius 2-2 exhaust system on my K9... it has the 117 ci engine.

Which gaskets are the best?
Which ones are NOT good for our dogs?
Which ones do you recommend?
Any suggested links where to order them?
Make, size, Part#?

Thanks.

Would something like those be the ones?

The same standard ones that are used on Harleys. I dont think there is a superior gasket out there. Any motorcycle shop will have them.

I bought mine at the local HD dealer, standard evo exhaust gaskets. It's been a couple of years now, no issues.

Gasket Question

I am happy to see this thread because while riding on I-20/59 yesterday I lost the nuts & washers off my V&H Radius exhaust rear flange. I was inspecting the cylinder head at the exhaust exit port and the S&S gasket seemed to be very thin. I too am interested in which type of gasket our members recommend and have had good service from. Does the copper type have any wear or sealing advantages? In my case, with the obvious thinning of my gaskets, it causes the copper style of gasket to raise my curiosity. Thoughts Anyone? I`m not at liberty to
divulge the speeds my buddy and I were running but, unfortunately, I lost a cover from the top of an oil cooler. Anyone have a replacement? PM me if any may be Thanks

IMO either style work fine, I think proper tightening sequence is more important. The one fault I have against tapers is that they often protrude into the exhaust flow as their crushed down. But they will usually fix a pesky leak that a flat will not get.

I have used these with no probs.

As far as the flat gasket vs. tapered. Tapered gives a better seal and the bit that gets in the port robs how much power? 2%? so you would drop from 110 hp to just a tap under 109. You would never notice this as far as seat of the pants riding. Would only interupt flow at very high RPM. Might have to put it on a dynot to see any difference. Set it up to ride.
