Yes you can bend it but again any additional forces placed on the material is going to cause stress and that stress is going to propagate into a broken part.
The K9 is a much larger bracket and would require extensive bending to make it fit right.
Believe me if I could just bend up a stainless bracket real quick and buff it to mirror and sell them I would. But I would be looking at upset customers, depending on how many miles they put on their bikes, in short order. Not to mention the liability side of the issue.
Not to long ago I was involved in a law suit, just the special witness side of it, where a guy was claiming that he lost control of his chopper because a truck crossed the center line slightly during a corner which caused him to have to lean and steer harder. When he leaned over he dragged his V&H pipes really hard. His lawyer claimed that the exhaust mounting bracket failed and that was what caused him to crash. They were suing for 25 million.
A lot of people don't understand what something like a chrome exhaust bracket can cost.
Of course if you make 1000 thousand of them the cost can be kept to a "reasonable" amount.
But to make "1"
The bracket must be acquired........................20-30
Now it has to be cleaned up and buffed...........50-75
Now chromed..............................................50
Never mind all the running around to take it to the chromer e.t.c.
